There are two good scenes I remember fondly from Baise Moi, the one on the stairs and the one with the scissors/cruficix. Just ask some fetish friends around to have playtime in your flat one time when you are out: tell them not to use a gag and crank up the volume. Result: one freaked out neighbour.

Back in Darlo, my flatmates and I had a drawn-out war with a drummer. We put the council rangers on him month after month. We couldn't do much other than make him feel socially defective and a lower form of life, which was very satisfying. I gave him both my teacher-disapproves-of-you face and my calm-but-can-kill-you kung fu face.

Most proper muso's will hire out rehearsal space. Dropkicks annoy me, moreso when they defile the nest of humanity from which they have drawn their inspiration.

I can also recommend you play one of my favourite country albums loudly on future Monday mornings: 'Singing with Emmylou volume 2", especially "I'm Going Crazy in 3/4 time".

That's the exact kind of tenant that should be evicted. You hear all the time about people being evicted for little or no reason, and yet this asshole stays. Life is unfair.

I got into a stereo battle with some loud neighbors about ten years ago. I had had it up to here with their stereo blasting all over the neighborhood and into our house and yard. So one night they had a bunch of people over, including families with little kids. I took our CD player out onto our terrace, faced the speakers right toward them, put on the most profane Pantera CD I could find and cranked the volume up to eleven. After a few minutes they all went inside.

It felt good, but in a way I also felt like an overgrown 6th grader yelling "neener neener neener" during recess.

Once, when I rented, the neighbors next door used the basement to smoke and all the smoke came wafting up into my apartment. A little drizzle of something that smelled like skunk put an end to that......
