Even uncut the new Die Hard will never be as good as the first and arguably the 2nd. But I do hate it when films are trimmed for the blessed R rating, when it takes away from the quality. Can you imagine an R rating for Last Tango in Paris? A Clockwork Orange? Some people may not notice but any astute movie watcher can see it. I think the studio did come to it's senses and did the right thing by letting the actual version see the light of day.
