Note: Skip this post if you get how to use the new comment system. If you're stumped, come back here and hopefully it will make sense. OK, I've implemented a new comment system on the blog. Why? Because I sat back last night and watched the Blogger system devour 4 comments in a row for my last post and there was no way to get them back. Well actually there was, by copying and pasting them myself via the email alerts I get back into the comments section of the blog. Had I not had that feature activated, I would have never known you left a few kind words. Unacceptable!!!
How To Comment
The new comment feature may seem wacky but really is not that bad. You don't have to sign up for anything and if you get a message saying you do, please let me know. Instead, you should be able to log in with your Open ID, Twitter ID, Yahoo ID or Disqus ID. Most of you may already have an Open ID and not even know it. Click here at Open ID and be surprised at what you never knew! AMAZING right? Follow the directions there and you're in!! Now I hear some of you now....
Concerned Reader: But Ricardo, I don't want to sign up or use any of those stinkin' IDs, I just want to be myself.
Well you can!! Simply enter you name, website and/or email under the field that says "Type your comment here" then hit "JUST POST AS GUEST" in the annoying pop-up and presto, you're back in the game and unloading your thoughts on my latest masterpiece.
(clearing throat)
Summing it Up
No, the site has not been hacked.
No, this is not a scam!
No, you do NOT have to sign up for a Discus profile even though a stupid window comes up asking you to do so. It is OPTIONAL!!! Look to the left of the window and click the option "JUST POST AS GUEST." It will get you out of there quick.
No, I am not soliciting your email address for spam. What this new system does is simply let you know that I responded to you in real time and you can come back and reply to my reply. Did the old system have that? YES, but this one is supposed to be much better and facilitate more lively discussions. Whatever, who the hell knows. Just make an email address up if it bothers you.
Anyway, I have given up on how blogger handles my comments and had to resort to this. Fellow blogger and long time reader Meleah is using the system also with great success. Yes, times are changing. And now you can go read my blog post about me moving!!!
