The Stuntwoman

The pursuit of my acting aspirations has led me to meet all sorts of wonderful and fascinating people.  Even if I don't make it the experiences are still so incredibly worth it. I was sitting next to a very nice young woman who was watching a video over her phone showing woman on fire, then falling from a building and then being dragged by a car.

I had to ask what that was all about.  She told me it was a reel of one of her favorite stunt women and that she herself was an aspiring one with dreams of being set ablaze or hurled from a moving cars.  She had gone to a professional stunt school and was looking to secure work on the numerous productions being shot in NYC.

Upon further discussion I learned that she was into martial arts as well and figured that I best tread lightly with my jokes or else I'd get slapped around and not in a fun way.  There was a toughness to her but it wasn't abrasive, its just there in her back pocket. Some of you may think this would encroach on a woman's femininity but that was firmly intact a well. The toughness was tempered with a genuine sweetness of the girl next door.  Such a wonderful blending of attributes. I could certainly see her being used in stunts or even in some martial arts flicks or even as an unconventional starlet.

I ran into her on the subway out of costume and with her hair down where she gave me a big smile.  Yep, definitely a starlet and quite a fascinating subject.

Coming up......

Enough with the pork!!!
