About this Miss California Stuff

Carrie Prejean Topless
You know, this is a country where you're allowed the right to have an opinion and state it. It's also a place where you'll take heat if you're opinion is considered stupid by some. So if you go out and say that you think a certain group of people shouldn't get married on national TV, you're going to have to face the music. Sorry babe, just the way the game is played. What the matter Miss Carrie Prejean? Don't tell me you just figured this out now. If you did, you should be stripped of the Miss California title on the basis of displaying complete naiveté.

I really wasn't going to say anything on this topic as it doesn't pertain to me. But the more I keep hearing about this woman the more the whole thing just pisses me off.

Did she concede that it's great for people to have a choice in America? Yes. Does her opinion fall into the category of live and let live? No. If it did, she'd be in a lot less trouble right now. There's a few statements that this woman has made which concern me. While I have no issue with her being religious, I do have problems with ANY so called religious person who goes along the lines of: I am a (insert religion here) and I believe that people who are (insert any law abiding group here) shouldn't (insert any legal activity that the rest of us take for granted here). That's the fucking rub right there.

Gay people not being able to marry has no direct impact on me whatsoever. It's the the logic behind depriving them of this opportunity that draws the ire of many including me. And this is why topless photos of Carrie Prejean have been leaked with venomous glee, leaving her in a compromising position. People hate others who come off as hypocrites, especially religious ones. And there's nothing that annoys me more than people who come out on a religious high horse telling us that they know what's good for us. These people also have no concept of the separation of church and state. They will try to impose their religious beliefs on you through laws because their God is better than your God and if you happen to be an atheist or agnostic, they would pass a law to burn you alive in the town square if they could. Why? Because God told them to, but extra points if one of them is able to convert you at the last second. It's a sport you know.

Carrie Prejean had this to say on the Today Show:

“I was attacked for giving my own opinion on the stage of the Miss USA contest. And I’m going to do whatever it takes to protect marriage. It’s something that is very dear to my heart,”

Protect what Carrie?!?! Your religious view of marriage? That kind of goes against what you said about "choice" being a great thing about this country. Are you worried that some big, butch lesbian is going to haul you off to an Indigo Girls concert, reprogram you and whisk you away to some Vegas wedding you can't recall? What are we, back to the age of Anita Bryant here?!?! You going to start plugging orange juice along with the no gay marriage stuff? What is this?

Let's not kid ourselves, there's an agenda at work here. She's on board with a group called The National Organization for Marriage. They feel gay people will destroy business, religion, values, which has always been a very worrisome and nebulous term for me, and tradition. By the way, tradition means that they want to switch everything back to the 1950s. If you know your history that's not a good thing, be it if you're gay, a minority or a woman.

I know I'd be pretty mad if someone told me that dating or marriage should be between me and a woman of my own race and anything less would unravel the fabric of civilization. Ending that declaration with a "no offense" really isn't going to cut it. You're basically saying, "I think you're the scum of the earth and should stay in your corner. The bible even says so. No offense." And social conservatives wonder why they lost the Presidential election and are the butt of jokes. It's because you're STUCK IN THE LAND TIME FORGOT!!! Drink, get laid, smoke a joint, jaywalk or steal a library book. Loosen up already! What? You think you went down to 20% in this country by accident? The church lady went out when Dana Carvey left Satruday Night Live.

The final thing she said that annoyed me was this:

"There is something special about unions of husband and wife. Unless we bring men and women together, children will not have mothers and fathers."

Fuck you. This is the same shit Dan Quayle pulled by saying fictional character Murphy Brown was evil for having a kid out of wedlock. It's nice to have a mom and dad but you know what? Many people, even without gay marriage, don't grow up in traditional homes and sometimes it's a good thing because that mom or dad is FUCKED UP! People that don't fall into your concept of what's right to you doesn't make them wrong.

Yeah, Miss California was honest and didn't come off as a spiteful bitch during the pageant. But when your opinion singles out a group that can't do the things you and I take for granted, and you want to keep it that way, the trannies from Provincetown to San Francisco are going to come for you. And the makeover they have in mind won't be one you want.
