And.....SMASH!

Yep, like clockwork ladies and gents. I get to keep my car and no sooner does that happen then a mom in her minivan comes crashing into me on the highway!!!
The accident was not my fault so I get the car fixed for free. This will be of great inconvenience however.
Stay tuned for pictures of the fender bender, they're great!!!
I just fucking love it!!!
UPDATE
As promised, here are pictures of the fender bender. I love how the rear bumper slants, ever so slightly, on the drivers side. It could have been much worse but still it sucks.

I spoke with Chubb, the company that insured the woman that hit me and possibly one of the worst named companies ever. Not only do they have a pathetic name, but they had the nerve to say that they can't verify that the woman is insured with them based on the information I provided which was:
- Her name
- Her address
- Her drivers license number
- Her insurance policy number
- Her vehicle identification number
- Her date of birth
- The make of the car
- The year the car was made
- AND THE CASE NUMBER OF THE INCIDENT GIVEN TO ME BY THE CONNECTICUT STATE POLICE WHO WERE AT THE SCENE!!!!
WHAT MORE DO YOU NEED CHUBB!?!!?!?
She (the Chubb rep) then suggested that I just use my own insurance to cover the repairs as it would be done faster. UNACCEPTABLE!!! I told the Chubb Representative that I would NOT do that and they can take care of it. She said that would be fine but it might take 2 weeks!!!!
What is this!?!?!
Note to other drivers, avoid the Chubb flubs! They suck. And really, who the hell would want a company named Chubb backing them up? How can any of it lead to good?
I'm sick of this already. I'm going to drink play with my Blackberry, maybe watch some porn if the mood strikes me.
Later folks.
Coming up on U N L O A D E D....... What to do when you lose.

34 PEOPLE HAVE UNLOADED:
Yikes!!, this sort of thing always happens to me at the worst times...That was a dumb thing to say on my part. Is there really a good time to have an accident?
You just can't help bad timing hey...hope the car gets sorted sooner rather than later.
Tracey
Oh noes! Obviously, you're not hurt or you wouldn't have been able to type. Hope it works out.
oh bad luck!
but you're ok right?
*phew*
Marsha - Never a good time but I will say there are worse times. I laughed to myself right after it happened. the car is cursed!
Tracey - Good to see you. It's been awhile. I have to swing by and say hello! Yes I really want this all sorted out VERY soon.
Maritza- Yeah I'm OK but people were telling me to fake a back injury and collect the money. I think that's tacky.
Nursemyra - Bad look indeed. I'm OK but may need a stay at the Gimcrack Hospital for an exam just to make sure ;-)
WHOA... Good to hear you aren't hurt. I've been in car accidents before, they aren't pretty.
At least it won't cost you anything. That is the bright side. Can you get a rental at no charge too?
I feel bad 'cause I didn't inquire about your health. I'm glad you weren't injured.
Urban - I hope they give me a rental. Usually they do. It's only fair.
Marsha - The Marsha does not care if the Ricardo lives or dies :-P
But seriously, I didn't take it badly. If I was hurt I'd never be able to blog anyway. Not to worry Marsha.
Chubb??? That. Is. Awesome! FYI, there is a chain of schools called The Chubb Institute. LOL Oh yeah, glad you're ok. ; )
Yeeks! Sometimes it does seem like when it rains, it pours. When it comes to car accidents, I try to focus on the fact that cars are replaceable, people are not. I'm glad no one was injured! I'm glad you were able to laugh at it.
Hmm..Chubb does seem to have a bad attitude. I use the company with the Gecko. Granted all I've had to report was a cracked windshield but dang, no problems with that and the people have always been really nice.
I'm really glad no one was hurt. How's the cold?
Monique - The chubb Institute likely trains these kids to be indifferent when they grow up and work for their insurance wing. And what parent would send their kids to such a place. Flat out child abuse I'd say.
MsQ - My cold still lingers. Can't shake the cough. I laughed right after I was hit. And I yelled, "Yep! Typical!" I use the same insurance you do and they have been outstanding. You have encountered the Chubb flub I take it? It's downright awful.
Man, that totally sucks. And seriously - who would pay for insurance from a company named Chubb?
AlF - It totally blows. I almost lost the car to a large balloon payment. I got a loan at the last second to cover that and now a week later, THIS!!!!
And CHUBB!!?!? I thought the State trooper made an error on the form but they are real. Awful.
Can you say better business bureau!! I'd be pissed.
Marsha I am ready to bring in them and the State Attorney General's office if they pull anything shady. They are inviting a lawsuit with that attitude.
Glad to see you're ok, but just in case you've been "injured", I do have a number for an ambulance chaser. ;)
I think Chubb was my first health insurance provider when I was young and didn't need it. It IS an unfortunate name. I couldn't stop giggling.
No, I haven't had to deal with Chubb - I was basing my comment off your experience. I'm glad to read that the Gecko has treated you well! When I hear happy people answering the phone, I think...THAT's a company that I want to do business with!
Sorry that your cold still lingers. It's strange but I'm thinking that next year is your Turnaround Year. You've been handling all these setbacks with grace. Sure there have been a bit of "#@@!##@" thrown in but at your core, you are kind and you do find the good!
I think that good is gonna find that way back to you. You definitely deserve it!
Saadia - I may use that lawyer on day ;-) I made it out of this one just fine but I know some people would be saying that they can't move their neck or whatever just to score some cash.
Chubb offers all sorts of insurance from what I see but no matter what it is, how can you not laugh? The name is awful. Don't they have any marketing people? This is not the way to catch on. Not with a name like that.
MsQ - Thank you for those words of support. They are valued, trust me. I need all that I can get.
As for next year being better? I sure hope so. This one stunk. A turnaround is needed.
As for the cold, this cough will not go away. I have resumed my workouts hoping to sweat it out of my system but that's an old wives tale. I just can't waste away as I've made some nice gains over the last year going from 185 to 197 pounds and it was not flab nor did I ingest steroids to get there. I bet I've dropped to 190 now. What can you do? It's still better than the gaunt, schoolboy weakling I used to be. Must keep pumping the iron.
Taking my luck into consideration, this cough is likely tuberculosis.
I've never even heard of chubb insurance. Well....1)Glad you weren't hurt. 2)Watch it with the soccer mom!! Actually...what do you consider to be a soccer mom? Just someone with children? Or a certain KIND of someone with children. (See, I have this neurotic fear that I might be a soccer mom. I don't think that I am, but do soccer moms ever really know that they are soccer moms?)3)Make them pay!! Those A##wipes! I hate insurance companies that try to get out of paying by sending you through mounds of red-tape. I'm presently dealing with one now and I'm sick of it! 4)Vitamin C, Echinacea, chicken soup, rest and...okay porn!
BBE - Not every mother has a kid that plays soccer therefore not every mother is a soccer mom.
Furthermore, not every mother that has a kid that plays soccer is necessarily a "soccer mom."
The "soccer moms" I know and hate are:
A. Prone to a warped and unhealthy sense of entitlement because they spat out some kids.
B. Expects everyone else to be responsible for their kids by crying out that everything in the world is a potential danger to them and the objects (or people) in question should be banned.
C. Feels the need to purchase the largest SUV possible because it's "needed" to transport their 4 foot tall kids who weigh 30 pounds each.
D. Feels the need to drive the large SUV at the fastest speed possible on the road with little regard for anyone else.
E. Lets their kids jump around the back seat (unrestrained) as she weaves in and out of traffic at 90 MPH and blames everyone else on the road for being in her way.
F. Has a stupid sticker of a soccer ball on the back of the gas guzzling SUV as if this is supposed to tell us something and we should genuflect at it.
G. Feels an overall emptiness in her upper middle class life and coerces her her emasculated husband to knock her up again so she can get a bigger SUV and feel "fulfilled" as she brags to her friends across the street.
You BBE are NONE OF THESE THINGS! Nor will you ever be so don't get neurotic about it. I don't think any of the women here are. You'd be able to tell by their own blogs and comments.
These companies are crooked and it's obvious they don't want to hold up their end of the bargain. they are required to and if I have to take legal action, I will.
That sounds like a good prescription. I will follow.
"Gaunt schoolboy weakling???" I had no idea. I DO KNOW what it is to not be able to work out and see my body get out of shape! EEk!
Don't even THINK about being sick. Blech. Think of your great health. If it's a cold, usually working out will "work it out" for me, too. I have heard of this "lingering cough" from a friend of mine who got his cold while visiting NYC for T-day.
Unfortunately, you have had a lot of stress which dampens the immune system. Maybe it's time to try old fashioned rest, lots of tea and some chicken soup over the weekend. Be lazy. Rent a lotta movies.
Sometimes just a good day or 2 of REST knocks out the rest of the cold.
In other words, try not to get too...excited. Or over-stimulated. Hehahaha!!
MsQ yeah I used to be around 140-150 and I'm 6 feet tall so that was just awful. I started working out in college to reverse that. I just hated being so frail. I looked like I was on deaths door. Nowadays if I were to stop working out I'd drop down to 165. That's where my body naturally likes to be without exercise. I don't gain weight from now working out, I lose it!!!
Glad you also hate the feeling and have felt the guilt of not working out.
Oh, I get it. It's the people I used to work wit! You have been to the doctor haven't you? You don't have walking pneumonia do you?
dood. THAT SUCKS.
Im so sorry your new car got all dinged up.
(As an active insurance agent, I cannot comment with respects to dealing with Chubb.)
I can tell you that the WOMAN who HIT YOU needs to call CHUBB herself...that might speed things along.
still so sorry about the damage to your car.
*do you have rental reimbursement on your own ins. policy?*
BBE - I hope it's not walking pneumonia but with my luck as of late, who knows? The doctor recommends rest and lots of fluids but as MsQ pointed out I have lots of stress at my job and that does not help things at all.
Meleah – Thanks and I totally understand. I don’t want you getting fired over a comment that’s for sure. So the woman that hit me has to call? What I need to know is if she decides to run, can she hide? Eventually Chubb will have to do something even if she does not call. Right? It seems to me like they don’t even if the woman does call. I have also discovered damage to my exhaust pipe! So it’s not just the bumper. I called and told them about that too.
I do have rental reimbursement so when my car is getting fixed I’ll have something to drive. But doesn’t Chubb have to pick that up too?
Your Insurance Company will have to "subbrogate" against Chubb to pick up the costs.
Thats what insurance companies do.
Subbrogate eh? Sounds painful. I just don't want to pay a high cost for a rental you know? That can add up.
Oh no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry Ricardo - that STINKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:-( :-( :-(
Jill - it totally sucks!
I love it when a man admits to watching porn and playing with his blackberry--just saying...
Love the header.
enemy - i love for taking notice of the little things :-)
Wasn't much of an accident. Glad you're ok. With a name like "Chubb", did you expect any better?
Thanks Leon, it really was just a fender bender but considering all the grief I've gone through with my car as of late, this was an unfortunate turn of events. Chubb sucks Leon.
